Before you line our payments up against another dealer's: the Niro EV and EV6 figures above already include California's $3,500 first-EV rebate.

Why South San Francisco Goes Electric:
the #1 EV Market in the US.
South San Francisco commutes are short and dense, with El Camino Real, Mission Road and the US-101 crawl doing most of the miles. That is the profile where an EV is cheapest to run, because regenerative braking recovers some of the energy you would otherwise lose when slowing, and off-peak charging costs a fraction of a tank. PG&E's EV rate plans put their cheapest hours outside the 4-to-9 p.m. peak*SourcePG&E EV2-A rate plan: off-peak midnight to 3 p.m., partial-peak 3-4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight, peak 4-9 p.m., every day. Rates and hours change.
pge.com.
Stop-and-go on US-101 or I-280? Regenerative braking turns every slowdown into free range. Short daily commutes mean most Peninsula drivers charge only once every few days.
Peninsula drivers have access to hundreds of fast chargers - Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo, and more. Plus, Kia EVs include complimentary charging credits (Electrify America stations) to get you started*SourcePublic charging access and Kia Charge Pass details are based on Kia Owners Portal information and current network availability. Ask Serramonte Kia for current participating programs..
California offers a range of EV incentives that can help make driving electric more affordable. Programs such as the Drive Clean Assistance Program, Clean Cars 4 All, and local utility rebates may provide significant savings for eligible buyers*NoteIncentives vary by buyer and program eligibility. Kia EV Charging Options
Explained.
Home charging does the work for most South San Francisco owners, and public charging is for road trips. Here is what each of the three levels actually delivers*SourceCharging speed examples below are based on published Kia and charging program materials. Kia EV Dealer South San Francisco — Frequently Asked Questions.
What South San Francisco drivers ask us before going electric, answered with the source behind each answer. Last updated September 4, 2026.
Yes. Kia America is offering $10,000 Customer Cash on select new 2026 Kia Niro EV models from October 1 through November 2, 2026. It applies only when you buy, not when you lease, and it comes off the price rather than being paid out in cash. Kia requires delivery by October 31, 2026, and inventory is limited, so see every Niro EV we have in stock or call our sales team to confirm which cars qualify.
A standard 120-volt outlet gives you Level 1 charging, which adds a few miles of range an hour and is enough if your driving is short and local. Most owners add a 240-volt Level 2 circuit, the same kind of supply a clothes dryer uses, and wake up to a full battery.
A licensed electrician needs to confirm your panel has spare capacity before a Level 2 charger goes in, and that is worth doing before you order a car rather than after. We can tell you what to ask for.
Yes, but be honest about the routine first. If you park on the street, plan around a workplace charger or a DC fast charger you already pass, and treat that weekly stop as the plan rather than the fallback.
If no repeatable routine exists, a Kia hybrid or plug-in hybrid is the better buy, and we would rather say so before you sign than after. Come and describe your week to us and we will tell you which way it points.
Off-peak means charging when your utility's rates are lowest. On PG&E's EV2-A plan that window runs from midnight to 3 p.m. every day, peak is 4 to 9 p.m., and 3 to 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight are partial-peak. So overnight and late morning are both cheap, and early evening is the stretch to avoid*SourcePG&E EV2-A rate plan: off-peak midnight to 3 p.m., partial-peak 3-4 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight, peak 4-9 p.m., every day. Rates and hours change.

Every Kia EV lets you schedule charging, so you set the window once and the car charges in it from then on. Confirm the current plan details with PG&E before you switch, because rates and hours change.

From Colma it is about a mile to 600 Serramonte Blvd. Call 888-956-7349 before you set out and we will tell you the easiest way in.
You can, but BART is simpler. The Caltrain station is at 590 Dubuque Avenue on the east side of US-101, with a shuttle serving Oyster Point, so most people heading to Colma use BART instead*SourceSouth San Francisco Caltrain station, 590 Dubuque Ave, with the Oyster Point shuttle.

You have to be a California resident, it has to be your first zero-emission vehicle purchase or lease, the new vehicle's MSRP has to be $50,000 or below, and the car has to be purchased, delivered and registered in California*SourceCalifornia MyFirstEV program terms: $3,500 for a California resident buying or leasing a first zero-emission vehicle, new-vehicle MSRP cap $50,000, vehicle purchased, delivered and registered in California, applied at the dealership as a down payment and subject to dealer participation. Vehicle and customer eligibility, incentive amounts, funding availability and program requirements are set by the State and can change; funding is limited.
